This first review, by our guest video reviewer, is a 1975 movie that explores the intricacies & emotions of love & duty, and other things that fall through the cracks in this web we call life.
It is called: "IN THIS HOUSE OF BREDE"
THE REVIEW:
I personally felt that this 1975 movie, filmed in London & Ireland, was MARVELOUS! Diana Rigg was superb in the role of a woman of the world who explored and came to an understanding of the dynamics among filial love, mature love, duty and forgiveness, after donning the habit of a Benedictine nun.
Phillipa (Diana) had to deal with the generation both before and after her, in the persons of a jealous Sister and an over-adoring novice. Although the emotions ran the gamut - Phillipa learns how to balance all in true love.
Not since THE SONG OF BERNADETTE have I seen a movie with such moving power in its slow~moving manner, yet rivoting in the depths of human emotion it explores so well.
